Come out and see us.

We are just 30 minutes southeast of downtown Richmond, VA, near Shirley Plantation in Charles City County. Guest pilots and visitors are always welcome. All pilots must have their AMA registration card in their possession to fly and comply with the AMA Safety Code.

Club meetings are held at the flying field on the second Sunday of each month, around 2 PM, weather permitting.

Start with a visit, not an airplane purchase.

A club is one of the best places to begin in radio-controlled aviation. Before buying equipment, visit the field and talk with experienced pilots. So many of us who have been in the hobby a while and know what it is to spend money needlessly. Let us help steer you in the right direction with the right airplane suited for learning and a radio that will last for years.

There is a way for you to get hands-on, real-time flying experience while significantly reducing the possibility of crashing—it is called “Buddy Boxing.”

The images below demonstrate how this works: each person has a transmitter. The instructor (on the right) can give you full control of the aircraft with the flip of a switch. If you start to lose control at any point, the instructor takes over and saves the plane.
